Moldova's innovation policies are defined in the Innovation Strategy of the Republic of Moldova for the period 2013-2020 "Innovations for Competitiveness", approved by the Government Decision no. 952 of 27.11.2013. They will contribute to the materialization of the new paradigm of economic development defined in the National Development Strategy "Moldova 2020". This paradigm is based on attracting investment, developing export industries, building a knowledge-based society, strengthening research and development, innovation and technology transfer oriented towards efficiency and competitiveness. The strategic document is elaborated to support the implementation of the Moldovan Government's Program of Action “European Integration: Freedom, Democracy, Welfare. 2013-2014”.


The strategy is aimed at three specific objectives of the Government's Program of Action:


1) technological development of enterprises, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs);

2) development of support infrastructure for innovation activity;

3) provide conditions for building a knowledge-based economy.
