
The leadership of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure had a meeting with the Programming Mission of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). During the meeting, officials exchanged views on developments in the country's socio-economic development, reform actions implemented with the support of GIZ assistance, as well as the vision on policy priorities in the economic field.
The programming mission highlighted that the new GIZ assistance framework for the Republic of Moldova will cover the period 2022-2026, focusing on supporting the development of some regions, and the assistance portfolio will be complimented by other donors such as the EU and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
In this context, topics were discussed regarding the interaction of central public authorities with local public authorities on the topics of the economic bloc, the correlation of national development plans with those of development at regional level, state programs to support the business environment, development priorities. the SME sector, the consolidation of the business support infrastructure, the need to develop / update the urban plans of the localities, etc.
MEI Secretary of State Mihail Lupașcu expressed gratitude for the cooperation with GIZ Moldova and thanked the German Government for its long-term support in implementing the reform agenda of the Chisinau Government, especially in the project "Advising the Government of the Republic of Moldova on Policies economic ”. The firm's strong commitment to strengthening the cooperation framework and implementing assistance programs that support the Government's efforts to ensure the development of a sustainable and resilient economy was also mentioned.
We mention that, in the period 2019-2021, MEI received assistance from the MEPA project for the elaboration of the Strategy for an inclusive, sustainable and digital economy 2030; Social entrepreneurship program for 2021-2025; Proposals for economic measures in the context of COVID-19; Law on crowdfunding services; Study of the labor market in the Republic of Moldova, etc.
